This presentation highlights a few user cases how advanced analytics can help improve employee experience. One user case focuses on developing a recommendation engine for the learning platform to maximize employee experience. Dynamic employee-based recommendations will enable employees to close the gap in personal upskilling & reskilling needs/requirements. Another user case utilizes text analytics to analyze job descriptions, extract skills from job descriptions, identify skill adjacencies for internal movers and identify suitable learning content to close skill gaps.

Muge Guclu – Senior Data Scientist | Shell, The Netherlands
Muge Guclu is a Senior Data Scientist at Shell’s People Analytics team. Before joining Shell, she has been working in various industries including Telco, Banking, Insurance, Internet and Retail as data scientist/analytics consultant and has worked in Turkey, UAE and The Netherlands. Muge holds a MSc in Operations Research from Koc University.
Yuyu Zeng – Data Scientist | Shell, The Netherlands
Yuyu Zeng is a Data Scientist at Shell’s People Analytics team. Before joining Shell, he has worked on various data science/machine learning projects including matching candidates’ resumes with job descriptions in the HR industry, sales forecasting to a commodity level in the e-commerce sector, helping cycling teams to identify young talents at an early age. He holds a Ph.D. in econometrics specialized using mathematical tools to solve resource allocation problems including water and renewable energy resources.
